A New Garage Door Changes the Whole Picture.

The garage door is often the biggest thing on the front of your house. The right one improves how your home looks, feels and works every day.

Why replace a garage door?

Sometimes repair isn't the best answer.

Many doors can be repaired, and we'll tell you when that's the smarter move. Replacement tends to make sense when the door is:

  • Damaged across several sections
  • Old, worn out, and needing repeated repairs
  • Hurting your home's curb appeal
  • Poorly insulated, drafty or noisy
  • Heavy, rough-running or hard to balance
  • Not a good match for a modern opener

Garage door styles

Find the look that fits your home.

    Traditional

Raised or recessed panels that suit colonials, capes and ranches.

  • White carriage-house style garage doors with windows and black hardware

    Carriage House

The look of swing-out doors with the ease of an overhead door.

  • Insulated wood-look garage doors on a home in winter

    Insulated

Choosing the right door

What to think about.

  • Design

Panel style that suits the architecture of your home.

  • Color

Finishes that work with your siding, trim and roof.

  • Windows

Natural light and character, with privacy options.

  • Insulation

Comfort, quieter operation and a sturdier door.

  • Construction

Steel, wood-look and composite options with different upkeep.

  • Hardware

Decorative handles and hinges for a finished look.

  • Garage dimensions

Opening size, headroom and side room all matter.

  • Opener compatibility

Make sure door and opener work well together.

  3. 03

    Remove the old door

Taken down and hauled away when required.

  4. 04

    Install tracks and door

Tracks, hardware, springs and sections go in.

  5. 05

    Balance and test

We adjust the springs and test the travel.

  6. 06

    Set up the opener

    Configured and tested when applicable.

Repair vs. replacement

An honest comparison.

There's no universal rule. Replacement may make sense when multiple sections are damaged, the door is substantially deteriorated, repair costs start to approach what a new door would cost, or you want real improvements in insulation or appearance.

If a repair will do the job, we'll say so. See garage door repair.

Questions, answered.

Still unsure? Call (888) 888-8888 and talk to a real person.

01

How do I know if I need a new garage door?

Repeated repairs, damage across several sections, draftiness or a door that's become unsafe or unreliable are the usual signs. We'll give you an honest opinion.
02

Are insulated garage doors worth it?

For attached garages or garages you use as a workspace, insulation adds comfort, reduces noise and makes the door sturdier.
03

Can I keep my existing opener?

Sometimes. It depends on the opener's age, condition and fit with the new door. See garage door openers.
04

Do you remove the old door?

Yes, removal can be included when we install a new door.
